Entry Level Support Specialist

DSP Intern This internship program is designed to prepare you for a career as a Direct Support Professional (DSP). You will learn about the role and perform entry‑level duties under a qualified DSP for up to 3 months and up to 30 hours per week. Responsibilities Support participants with empowerment, communication, community and service networking Facilitate services, provide community living skills and supports, education, training and self‑development Advocate, provide vocational, educational and career support Participate in organizational activities, maintain documentation, build and maintain healthy friendships and other relationships Keep the participant at the center of all services (person‑centered approach) Support participant health and wellness, including assistance with daily tasks Schedule Mon‑Fri 9:00 am‑2:00 pm Pay $16.90–$20 per hour Program Perks Weekly pay Employment retention payments at six and twelve months Free interactive training Opportunity to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their community Potential for a long‑term career path Qualifications Must be 18 years or older Must have a High School Diploma (or equivalent) or Certificate of Completion Must have a valid Identification Card or Driver’s License Must pass a background check and required health screenings Physical Requirements The role requires indoor or outdoor work, frequent sitting, standing, writing and repetitive motions.
