Sheet Metal Mechanic

Job Descripton

• Cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using shears, brakes, punches, and rollers to create components and structures as per blueprints and job specifications.
• Assemble fabricated sheet metal components into finished products, ensuring proper fit, alignment, and functionality according to assembly drawings and instructions.
• Tack weld light metal parts and assemblies using modern machinery and efficient manufacturing techniques from stainless steel, steel, and aluminum).
• Fabricate, align, and assemble lockers, cabinets, ventilation, and other similar items .
• Inspect fabricated parts and assemblies for defects, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to quality standards, adjusting as necessary to meet specifications.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks on fabrication equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and following safe work practices.

Job Requirements:

• 4 years of sheet metal experience or related craft such as joiner or carpentry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to read blueprints, technical manuals, and other engineering drawings.
• Capacity to lift and manipulate heavy sheet metal materials, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
• Pass a hair follicle test and background check.
