Senior Neuropsych Account Manager - Columbia, SC

General Scope and Summary SAGE Therapeutics is seeking a patient‑inspired, results‑oriented sales professional to drive the product launch of a new therapy for Post‑Partum Depression (PPD). The role focuses on establishing a new market, executing all sales promotional activities within the territory, leading the territory sales strategy, analyzing market drivers, building cross‑functional partnerships, and ensuring the business plan is executed. The Sr. NAM will work closely with local key opinion leaders and must adapt to ambiguity, solve problems, and manage projects in an innovative and compliant manner to help achieve SAGE’s commercial vision. Roles and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) Achieves territory goals through effective business planning and sales execution, leveraging the customer selling model. Promotes a customer‑centered culture that exceeds customer needs by developing rapport with external customers in Psychiatry, Obstetrics/Gynecology, and Internal Medicine/Primary Care. Develops and implements an HCP and account‑based strategy to promote PPD awareness, screening, diagnosis, and product usage. Analyzes the market to understand the local healthcare environment, including reimbursement and coverage, and identifies business opportunities. Ensures all activities comply with SAGE policies, applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. Builds rapport with key stakeholders within target accounts and cultivates local KOL support in a compliant manner. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the PPD disease state, treatment options, and impact on patients, payers, institutions, and healthcare providers. Collaborates with matrix teams (Market Access, Trade, Marketing, etc.) to execute strategies. Think critically and creatively to navigate complexities in patient care pathways and achieve solutions. Collaborates with internal and external partners to achieve business goals. Leads without authority to accomplish necessary business outcomes. Maintains intellectual curiosity and embraces new initiatives and technologies to enhance selling efforts. Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills Must thrive in a fast‑paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Requires excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders, identify issues, and develop realistic plans and recommendations. Basic Qualifications BA/BS degree required. 5+ years of related experience in biotechnology sales, marketing, or operations. Product launch experience required. Preferred Qualifications Consistent track record of top sales performance and recognition for meeting sales goals. Strong analytical and computer skills to analyze market, evaluate customer needs, and outline business opportunities. Ability to create territory plans, align internal stakeholders, and coordinate resources to execute plans. Experience with first‑in‑class product launches and specialty pharmacy. Experience in women’s health, CNS, brain health, or rare disease with account‑selling models preferred. Deep local market knowledge. Strong team player with a customer‑service approach and solution orientation. Attention to detail and ability to work individually, within multidisciplinary teams, and with external partners and vendors. Ability to travel 50‑90% and must reside in the territory. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record are essential. Embraces SAGE core values and commits to the vision and mission. Benefits and Compensation Base salary hiring range: $120,000 – $165,000. The actual salary offered within this range depends on experience, qualifications, education, skills, and performance. Eligible to participate in the Sales Incentive plan; incentive amount varies based on performance. Comprehensive benefits and wellness package including medical, dental, and vision coverage upon hire. Base salary ranges are periodically reviewed and may be subject to change.
