Clerk, Shipping

Warehouse Position

Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments. Prepare items for shipment. Duties include assembling, addressing, stamping, and shipping merchandise or material; receiving, unpacking, verifying and recording incoming merchandise or material; and arranging for the transportation of products.

Process deliveries through pick confirming, manifesting and ship confirming. Compiles shipping/receiving reports for division use. Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process, and quality system. Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system. Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels. Assist with locator updates. Maintains files of delivery tickets, POD's and OP Receivers. Helps with disposition of product. Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned

Ability to analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and public.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Ability to compute rate, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carryout instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Ability to use 10-key calculator, PC, photocopies, telephone and facsimile machine

0-1 years of related job experience. Warehouse experience required preferably working in a distribution environment.

High School Diploma/GED Preferred
