Assistant Infection Preventionist About Infection Prevention Services Infection Prevention Services LLC supports hospitals and healthcare facilities with infection prevention rounding, audits, surveillance support, staff education, regulatory readiness, and process improvement. We are looking for dependable, professional team members who can work independently, communicate clearly, and follow through on assigned work. This role is active, hands on, and facility based. It is not a remote or desk position. Our team works directly with nurses, EVS, respiratory therapy, lab, leadership, and frontline staff to help identify infection prevention risks and support safer patient care. Positions Available Full-time position: Monday through Friday Full-time weekend position: Wednesday through Sunday Part-time position: schedule may vary based on facility needs Travel between assigned healthcare facilities is required for training, coverage, and operational needs. Role Description The Assistant Infection Preventionist supports daily infection prevention operations at assigned healthcare facilities. This includes rounding, audits, data collection, documentation, surveillance support, and staff education. This position requires someone who is organized, reliable, and able to complete assigned work without constant reminders. The right person must be comfortable walking units, speaking with staff, identifying concerns, and escalating issues when needed. Daily responsibilities may include hand hygiene audits, PPE audits, isolation rounds, device rounds, environmental cleaning audits, data entry, report preparation, and follow up on infection prevention concerns. Key Responsibilities Complete infection prevention rounds and audits as assigned. Travel to assigned facilities when required. Collect and enter data accurately and on time. Assist with surveillance activities, including review of isolation, devices, infection risks, and high risk patients. Conduct audits for hand hygiene, PPE, isolation practices, environmental cleaning, and device utilization. Communicate findings clearly to leadership. Escalate concerns promptly instead of waiting for follow-up. Assist with staff education and reinforce infection prevention expectations. Maintain accurate documentation and tracking tools. Work professionally with nursing, EVS, respiratory therapy, lab, leadership, and other departments. Follow company policies, facility policies, and infection prevention standards. What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who is dependable, coachable, detail oriented, and professional. This role requires strong follow through. Assigned work must be completed accurately and by the required deadline. The ideal candidate asks questions, communicates barriers early, and takes ownership of their work. Minimum Expectations Report to work on time and ready to work. Work the assigned schedule consistently. Travel between facilities as needed. Communicate professionally with staff and leadership. Document findings accurately. Meet deadlines. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism. Qualifications Healthcare experience preferred. Foundational knowledge of infection prevention and control preferred. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, Microbiology, Health Sciences, or a related field preferred. Strong attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable speaking with healthcare staff and leaders. Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and basic computer systems. Willingness to learn infection prevention surveillance, audit tools, and reporting systems. Familiarity with CDC, OSHA, CMS, CDPH, and Joint Commission standards is a plus. a-IPC, CIC, or interest in infection prevention certification is a plus. Work Requirements On site work required. Reliable transportation required.Travel between healthcare facilities is required.Must be able to complete facility onboarding requirements, including health screening, TB testing, vaccination documentation or declinations, background check, and any client-specific requirements.Must be able to work in healthcare environments and follow all infection prevention and safety requirements.
