Our client, a prominent healthcare system known for its innovative approach to patient care and operational excellence, is hiring a Senior Financial Analyst . This critical role within the Decision Support, Strategy & Value Improvement Team involves delivering analytical insights to drive financial performance and strategic initiatives across the hospital. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing directly to the organization's financial health and operational efficiency.


Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file the NYS Institutional Cost Report (NYSICR) and Medicare 2552 cost reports, including exhibits on expenses, revenues, reclassifications, recoveries, and statistical allocations.
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of monthly NYS DOH pool reports and assist with regulatory surveys and reports.
• Support the submission of Medicare and Medicaid provider enrollment documentation in compliance with CMS and state regulations.
• Analyze third-party rate accounts and payer contracts; assist with monthly Medicare revenue accrual calculations by updating systems with relevant data.
• Reconcile cash receipts detailed in treasury reports and support quarterly physician time studies.
• Participate in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation while maintaining confidentiality.
• Develop and execute analytical frameworks for complex data sets; proactively communicate issues and suggest process improvements.
• Take initiative to improve data integrity, streamline processes, and propose innovative solutions to operational challenges.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Mathematics, or Management Information Systems.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare finance, not-for-profit accounting, or related fields.
• Strong technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, advanced formulas), Access, and familiarity with SQL and data transformation tools such as Tableau, Data Bricks, Alteryx.
• Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines and work efficiently under pressure.
• Solid understanding of healthcare industry financial operations and cost reporting processes.
• Preferred: Master's degree or CPA, experience with hospital reimbursement, decision support systems, Business Intelligence tools (Tableau, Power BI), and extensive data manipulation experience.
