Senior Financial Analyst

Title : Senior Financial Analyst, Strategic Finance & Analysis Company : Life Sciences Compensation : $95,000 to $110,000 base Location : La Jolla, CA A client of ours is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support strategic finance initiatives, planning, and performance analysis across a complex research-driven environment. This role partners closely with both operational and scientific leadership to drive decision-making, improve processes, and deliver actionable financial insights. Responsibilities : • Lead forecasting, annual budgeting, and long-range financial planning across multiple funding streams • Analyze financial performance and provide insights to ensure alignment with organizational goals and commitments • Build and enhance forecasting models, KPIs, and reporting tools to support data-driven decisions • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost efficiencies, and optimization of strategic investments • Partner with leadership to evaluate new initiatives and business opportunities • Develop executive-level presentations and deliver insights to senior stakeholders, including board-level reporting • Perform complex financial analysis in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Qualifications : • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis within life sciences, biotech, technology, or research-driven environments • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and business drivers • Comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and making decisions with incomplete data • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to shifting demands • Strong sense of ownership and accountability with a proactive approach to challenges • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across technical and non-technical teams • Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a related field; background in investment banking or consulting is a plus
