Payroll and Benefits Coordinator

Select how often (in days) to receive an alert: Payroll and Benefits Coordinator The Payroll and Benefits Coordinator is the primary point of contact for all matters concerning payroll and day-to-day benefits administration for the corporation. Essential Duties: Process bi-weekly and special payroll runs for US based employees. Reconcile payroll registers and validate confirmed reports before payment is initiated. Maintain payroll records and related documentation. Ensure compliance with pay provisions per company policy and labor agreements. Provide reports to colleagues in finance and audit; work with them to explain variations and identify discrepancies. Advise managers and supervisors on payroll processing, tax laws, garnishments, system issues and general matters concerning payroll. Work with the team and payroll processor to research and respond to escalated employee inquiries. Serve as the primary point of contact internally with respect to benefit plans, including 401k, medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance. Monitor changes and developments related to benefits including industry trends, compliance, and other matters. Assist with other HR related tasks and activities which may include employee relations, training, and recruiting. Qualifications: A high school diploma is required; an associate degree in accounting, business, or a related discipline is a plus. At least five years of experience in a role that is primarily responsible for processing payroll are required. Experience with ADP software, including Workforce Now, is strongly preferred. Experience processing payroll for workers represented by a labor union is a strong plus. Solid knowledge of employee benefits such as medical, dental, vision, disability, 401k, is required. Expert-level knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act and other legal aspects of payroll and benefits administration is crucial for success in this role.
