Job Title Registered Nurse – Night Shift Location Alabama Schedule / Job Type Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift Key Responsibilities Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team. Provide accurate, succinct, and timely documentation of all assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record in accordance with policy. Participate in patient rehabilitation programs, utilizing the nursing process of assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care with a focus on patient and family education. Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and provide patient teaching in anticipation of the discharge date. Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to attending physicians, charge nurses, and other care providers to ensure continuity of care and patient safety. Provide direction, training, and supervision of Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees, delegating appropriately and utilizing effective problem-solving techniques. Required Qualifications Current, active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of Alabama or compact licensure eligibility. Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans. Competency in safe patient handling, infection control, and adherence to hospital safety policies and procedures. Ability to supervise and delegate to ancillary nursing staff effectively. Strong documentation skills with the ability to maintain accurate and timely medical records. Preferred Experience / Skills Experience in a rehabilitation or long-term acute care setting. Prior charge nurse experience or demonstrated leadership in a clinical environment. Commitment to ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.
