Adult Community Engagement Coordinator

Lincolnwood Public Library is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and community‑minded professional to be our first ever Adult Community Engagement Coordinator. In this newly‑developed role, the successful candidate will be the driving force behind efforts to connect the library with adult residents around the community. Working both inside the Library and beyond our doors, the Coordinator will develop, implement, and oversee services such as our new Home Delivery program which is set to launch after the role is filled. Our ideal candidate will have excellent organization and communication skills, have strength in building connections, and be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities Coordinate the library’s Home Delivery service, working collaboratively across the Library to ensure materials are selected with intention and delivered to our patrons in a timely manner. Maintain our Historical Collection, ensuring the items are well‑maintained and remain available to the community for generations to come. Supervise adult volunteers, assigning work and building relationships to match our volunteers with tasks they are well‑suited for. Regularly work the Adult Services desk, providing readers advisory, reference help, and technology assistance to our patrons. Other as assigned. About Us Lincolnwood is a small suburb bordering Chicago’s north shore, home to a diverse community of about 13,000 residents. End‑to‑end, the town spans just shy of 3 miles. Our library is a small building with a ton of character. With our limited space, outreach and community engagement are excellent opportunities to increase access and services for our community. Requirements Associates Degree or two years of comparable experience. One year experience working with adults in an educational or public library setting preferred. Health insurance, dental, and vision - (100% paid by employer) IMRF 18 days of vacation per year, increasing to 23 days of vacation after the first year 12 days of sick leave per year Paid holidays 6 weeks of paid parental leave, eligible after the first year of employment Benefits are approved annually by the Board of Trustees. 37.5/hr in‑person workweek.
