Operations Associate (Part-time)

Organization Description Cocoon is a rapidly expanding members-only club for families, offering a blend of play spaces, classes, and community support inspired by Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies. Located in Tribeca and the Upper West Side, Cocoon is committed to inclusivity, with every membership fee supporting prenatal and postpartum programming for parents of all income levels. Job Description Cocoon is seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic part‑time team member for a multifaceted role that blends front‑desk responsibilities, facilitating group activities for children 3 months to 8 years, and the ability to substitute classes and camps as needed. The position is ideal for someone who thrives in a high‑energy, child‑focused environment and is passionate about creating meaningful experiences for children and families. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and comfortable leading activities and interactive performances, balancing administrative support, hands‑on educational engagement, and customer service. Main Duties Customer Service Support & Administrative Duties Learn and follow all company processes and policies related to customer service. Draft communication documents with partners and members. Support the front desk with customer inquiries about programming and class policies. Assist with social media and email campaigns to promote courses, including season rollouts and enrollment drives. Assist in programming rollouts when needed, including course tile card production and quality assurance. Education & Programming Teach and facilitate Cocoon courses, camps and happenings as needed. Prepare partner class rosters for the front desk and track class enrollment to ensure partners are properly paid. Prepare for class cancellations and make‑ups by setting communications and workflow for when a class is canceled. Track class rosters and course enrollments in Airtable. Safety & Well‑Being Help enforce health and safety procedures across all programs. Support student and camper supervision and assist in emergency situations as needed. Key Success Factors Adaptability in supporting a wide range of program, admin, and performance duties. Strong communication, interpersonal, and multitasking skills. Comfort with performance and public interaction. Qualifications Experience in education, camp, childcare, or youth programming preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, and multitasking skills. Enthusiasm for working with children in both structured and playful settings. 1+ year of customer service experience. Background check required. Availability for flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Position Type Part Time – schedule determined by Cocoon’s semesters (Fall Semester: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays 9 am–5:30 pm). Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Comfortable standing, moving, and performing for extended periods. Compensation $25 per hour.
