This job description reflects responsibilities and qualifications for the Van Driver position within CRISTA Senior Living. Position Summary The Van Driver at CRISTA Senior Living provides safe, reliable, and courteous transportation for Senior Living residents using company-provided sedans or vans. The role supports the overall mission by assisting residents to maintain independence and access medical appointments, shopping, and social or recreational outings. The driver ensures professionalism and care in interactions and maintains vehicle cleanliness, performs basic vehicle inspections, and reports mechanical issues to ensure safety and compliance. Essential Functions (General overview and may include all details of responsibilities) Resident Interaction and Customer Service: greet residents professionally and assist them on/off the vehicle; escort residents to entrances of destinations; assist with lifting grocery bags or packages if requested; report behavior changes to Transportation Manager. Cleanliness and Maintenance: inspect interior and exterior of vehicles; keep vehicles clean; follow vehicle policies and clean protocols; perform basic fuel and fluid checks; report issues to Manager or Lead; ensure safety before continuing routes; complete vehicle inspection forms. Transportation: safely transport residents via sedan or van to medical appointments, errands, and social/recreational outings scheduled with the Transportation office. Teamwork and Professional Development: participate in continuing education programs and team meetings; collaborate with coworkers, residents, and other CRISTA departments as requested. Administrative Management: maintain daily transportation log; assist with data gathering methods for program evaluation; obtain approval before using procurement card and upload receipts; perform other duties as assigned. Essential Qualifications CHRIST CENTERED Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior; committed Christian with ongoing spiritual growth; engages in prayer and spiritual practices; aligns with CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and CCC. Education High school diploma or equivalent. Experience Minimum of three years driving experience. Licensure / Certification Valid Washington State Driver’s License with a clear driving record (minimum 3 years). First Aid certification or training within 90 days of employment. Complete Relias training to meet the requirements of Crista Senior Living Administration. Software / Equipment Knowledge Computer, phones, Microsoft Office and related tools. Other Considerations Minimum age 25; flexible with schedule; ability to handle changes such as heavy traffic and unscheduled activities. Protected Health Information at Level 2 minimum; ability to read, write, speak and interpret English at a functional level. Ability to pass background checks relating to the DSHS Secretary’s List of Crimes and Negative Actions; note: any required disclosures should be handled per policy. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Shoreline, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Northgate, Seattle, and Everett; familiarity with King and Snohomish County areas.
