Position Welder – Reports to Manufacturing Supervisor, based in Fremont, CA. This is a fully on‑site, in‑office role. Role and Responsibilities Read and interpret work instructions to determine specific welding requirements. Weld in horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. Position and clamp parts together in fixtures. Accurately count all pieces to ensure quality control of parts prior to welding. Operate welding equipment according to the operating manual. Complete required paperwork in a correct and timely manner. Operate hoist and power lift stand; load and unload jigs. Perform leak testing checks on finished welding products. Follow Standard Operating Procedures and/or Work Instructions exactly as written to produce a quality product. Fabricate components for use in a solid oxide fuel cell electrical power generator. Maintain all machine shop equipment and 5S upkeep. Notify management of shop consumables (e.g., cutting oils, welding gases, tooling and bits, etc.) to maintain inventories. Create assembly and fabrication fixtures. Address and recommend improved methods for creating hardware and assemblies. Perform basic job functions as directed safely and efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. 1 year of TIG welding experience preferred. 2–3 years of hands‑on manufacturing experience preferred. Required experience in following work instructions. Preferred valid certificate in welding from an accredited institution. Must have mechanical skills and be able to use basic shop tools and equipment. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. at a time. Must have manual dexterity to assemble products as directed. Must have excellent hand‑eye coordination. Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). May be required to wear a respirator and pass a fit test. Benefits & Compensation The total compensation for this position includes standard company benefits and is based on various factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience.
