Job Summary

The Landscape Construction Foreman is responsible for leading field crews in the execution of commercial and residential landscape construction projects. This role combines hands-on installation work with crew supervision, jobsite coordination, and quality control to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to company standards.

The Foreman serves as the on-site leader, ensuring daily production goals are met while maintaining high workmanship and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Safety

Lead, supervise, and train landscape construction crews
Assign daily work tasks and manage jobsite productivity
Enforce safety policies, procedures, and jobsite best practices
Promote accountability, teamwork, and quality workmanship

Landscape Construction Execution

Oversee and perform installation of landscape construction scopes including:
- Grading, drainage, and site preparation
- Hardscape installations (pavers, retaining walls, concrete prep)
- Irrigation system installation and repairs
- Planting, sod, mulch, and landscape finishes
Ensure all work aligns with project plans, specifications, and schedules
Identify and resolve field challenges proactively

Scheduling, Materials & Equipment

Coordinate labor, equipment, and materials to maintain project schedules
Monitor material usage and report shortages or inefficiencies
Operate and oversee safe use of equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, and trenchers
Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization

Quality Control & Documentation

Perform daily quality checks on installed work
Complete required jobsite documentation including daily logs, photos, and time tracking
Assist with punch lists, inspections, and project closeout

Communication & Client Interaction

Maintain clear communication with Project Managers regarding progress and issues
Represent the company professionally with clients, homeowners, inspectors, and subcontractors
Participate in jobsite meetings as needed

Qualifications

Required

Minimum 3 years of landscape construction experience (commercial and/or residential)
Prior experience leading a crew or acting in a foreman role
Ability to read and interpret landscape and irrigation plans
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record

Preferred

Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills
Commercial landscape construction experience
Irrigation installation and troubleshooting experience
Equipment operation experience (skid steer, mini-excavator, etc.)
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification

Physical Requirements

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs routinely
Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb, and walk for extended periods

El Capataz de Construccin de Paisajismo es responsable de dirigir y supervisar cuadrillas de trabajo en proyectos de construccin de paisajismo comercial y residencial. Este puesto combina trabajo prctico en campo con liderazgo de equipo, coordinacin en el sitio de trabajo y control de calidad para asegurar que los proyectos se completen de manera segura, eficiente y conforme a los estndares de la empresa.

El Capataz acta como el lder en el sitio, asegurando que se cumplan las metas diarias de produccin y que el trabajo se realice con alta calidad y profesionalismo.

Responsabilidades Principales

Liderazgo de Cuadrilla y Seguridad

Dirigir, supervisar y capacitar a las cuadrillas de construccin de paisajismo
Asignar tareas diarias y administrar la productividad del equipo
Hacer cumplir las polticas de seguridad y las mejores prcticas en el sitio de trabajo
Fomentar la responsabilidad, el trabajo en equipo y la calidad del trabajo

Ejecucin de Construccin de Paisajismo

Supervisar y participar en la instalacin de trabajos de construccin que incluyen:
- Nivelacin, drenaje y preparacin del terreno
- Instalacin de superficies duras (adoquines, muros de contencin, preparacin de concreto)
- Instalacin y reparacin de sistemas de riego
- Plantacin, colocacin de csped, mulch y acabados de paisajismo
Asegurar que el trabajo se realice de acuerdo con los planos, especificaciones y cronogramas
Identificar y resolver problemas en campo de manera proactiva

Programacin, Materiales y Equipo

Coordinar mano de obra, equipo y materiales para cumplir con los plazos del proyecto
Supervisar el uso de materiales y reportar faltantes o ineficiencias
Operar y supervisar el uso seguro de equipos como minicargadores, mini-excavadoras y zanjadoras
Mantener el sitio de trabajo limpio, organizado y seguro

Control de Calidad y Documentacin

Realizar revisiones diarias de calidad del trabajo instalado
Completar la documentacin requerida del proyecto (bitcoras diarias, fotos, registro de horas)
Asistir con listas de pendientes (punch lists), inspecciones y cierre del proyecto

Comunicacin y Atencin al Cliente

Mantener comunicacin clara y constante con los Gerentes de Proyecto sobre el avance del trabajo
Representar a la empresa de manera profesional ante clientes, propietarios, inspectores y subcontratistas
Participar en reuniones de obra cuando sea necesario

Requisitos

Requisitos Mnimos

Mnimo 3 aos de experiencia en construccin de paisajismo (comercial y/o residencial)
Experiencia previa liderando cuadrillas o en un rol de capataz
Capacidad para leer e interpretar planos de paisajismo y riego
Habilidades slidas de liderazgo, organizacin y comunicacin
Licencia de conducir vlida y historial de manejo aceptable

Requisitos Preferidos

Bilinge (espaol / ingls)
Experiencia en proyectos de paisajismo comercial
Conocimientos en instalacin y solucin de problemas de riego
Experiencia operando equipo pesado
Certificacin OSHA 10 u OSHA 30

Requisitos Fsicos

Capacidad para trabajar al aire libre en diferentes condiciones climticas
Capacidad para levantar hasta 50 libras de manera regular
Capacidad para estar de pie, agacharse, arrodillarse, subir y caminar por perodos prolongados
