Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant Newark, NJ | In-Person | $31 - $34 /hr | Temp-to-Hire A well established and growing company with a team that genuinely cares about its people is hiring a Staff Accountant to join their organization. This is a hands on, highly visible role supporting both the accounting and risk management sides of a multi entity operation, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes ownership of their work. What You’ll Do: Prepare and review bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger and loan accounts across multiple entities Review and process AP/AR adjustments, aging reports, and related reconciliations Investigate and resolve discrepancies across balance sheet accounts and intercompany activity Support recurring financial and operational reporting, including payroll and inventory schedules Request, track, and maintain Certificates of Insurance and related insurance schedules Monitor and support automobile and workers' compensation claims through resolution Review safety and compliance alerts and help prepare related communications Partner closely with leadership across accounting, insurance, and safety functions What You Bring: Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or a related operational accounting role Hands on experience with bank reconciliations, GL accounts, AP/AR, and account analysis Strong Excel skills and comfort managing recurring reports and reconciliations High attention to detail with strong organizational and follow up skills Comfortable managing multiple entities, accounts, and divisions at once Exposure to insurance, claims, risk management, fleet operations, or safety/compliance is a big plus Comfortable working onsite five days a week What's In It For You: The stability of a well established, growing organization A team that values its people and invests in their growth Strong potential path to a permanent role for the right candidate Exposure to a broad, cross functional role that builds real career depth This role won't be open long.
