Sr. Technica; Business Development Manager - SOFC Solutions (Bilingual English/Mandarin)

Position Overview Delta Electronics is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Technical Business Development Manager to drive the adoption and market growth of Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) solutions across North America’s rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market. This role will support key market segments including hyperscale data centers, AI factories, semiconductor manufacturing, and server manufacturing facilities within our Hydrogen Energy Business Development (HEBD) organization . This position combines technical expertise, strategic business development, customer engagement, and cross-functional project leadership . The successful candidate will partner closely with Delta’s U.S. sales organization and engineering teams in Taiwan to identify, develop, and advance customer opportunities from early-stage market engagement and solution development through project award. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and commercial capabilities, with the ability to understand complex customer requirements, effectively position Delta’s SOFC solutions, and influence key stakeholders throughout the solution development and decision‑making process. Professional proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required to effectively collaborate with customers and Delta’s global engineering and business teams. Key Responsibilities: Business Development Identify and develop new business opportunities within North America's AI infrastructure market. Build relationships with hyperscale cloud service providers (CSPs), AI factory developers, server manufacturers, EPC contractors, utilities, and strategic partners. Develop account strategies for target customers and key industry stakeholders. Generate qualified sales opportunities and manage the business development pipeline. Achieve the annual business target. Conduct market research on data center power infrastructure, distributed generation, microgrids, and AI factory developments. Monitor industry trends, competitors, government incentives, and emerging technologies. Investigate federal, state, and local regulations affecting SOFC deployment. Analyze permitting requirements, environmental regulations, emissions standards, interconnection requirements, and relevant electrical codes. Identify customer pain points and technical requirements. Conduct technical discovery meetings and requirement workshops. Present SOFC technology, value propositions, and technical capabilities to customers. Build long‑term relationships with engineering teams, facility owners, consultants, and decision makers. Coordinate customer visits, workshops, and technical discussions. Solution Development Work closely with engineering teams in Taiwan to translate customer requirements into technical solutions. Coordinate conceptual system design, preliminary layouts, and technical proposals. Support techno-economic evaluations and business case development. Ensure proposed solutions align with customer operational requirements and project objectives. Proposal & Project Development Lead technical proposal development in collaboration with engineering, commercial, and project teams. Support RFIs, RFQs, and RFP responses. Coordinate technical clarifications throughout the sales cycle. Participate in contract negotiations from a technical perspective. Drive projects from opportunity identification through project award. Cross-functional Collaboration Serve as the primary technical interface between North American customers and engineering teams in Taiwan. Coordinate communication among sales, engineering, manufacturing, project management, and executive leadership. Facilitate internal technical reviews and project strategy discussions. Ensure customer feedback is effectively communicated into product development. Industry Representation Represent the company at industry conferences, exhibitions, technical seminars, and customer events. Develop strategic relationships with industry associations, consultants, EPC firms, utilities, and technology partners. Promote the company's SOFC solutions within the North American energy ecosystem. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical discipline; Master’s degree preferred. Minimum 5 years of experience in technical sales, business development, application engineering, solution engineering, or a related technical-commercial role. Experience within fuel cells, distributed energy, power generation, microgrids, data centers/AI infrastructure, electrical power systems, industrial energy systems, or EPC projects. Strong technical knowledge of energy and power infrastructure, including areas such as SOFC/fuel cell technology, distributed energy, microgrids, natural gas power generation, data center power infrastructure, medium‑voltage systems, grid interconnection, backup power, CHP, or energy storage integration. Ability to understand complex engineering requirements and effectively translate technical concepts into customer‑focused solutions and business opportunities. Strong customer‑facing communication, technical presentation, analytical, problem‑solving, and project management skills, with experience coordinating across multidisciplinary teams. Knowledge of applicable North American codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, EPA, and local permitting requirements, is highly desirable. Fluent English and Mandarin Chinese required, with the ability to effectively communicate with North American customers and engineering teams in Taiwan. Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, global environment and manage multiple customer and project priorities. Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience with Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC) technology or other advanced distributed power‑generation solutions. Experience supporting or developing business with hyperscale cloud providers, AI infrastructure developers, data center developers, semiconductor or server manufacturers, utilities, EPC contractors, or energy developers. Experience managing large‑scale industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects, particularly within critical power, renewable energy, or distributed‑energy environments. Travel: Ability to travel approximately 30–50% throughout North America, with occasional international travel to Taiwan and other global locations.
