Development CoordinatorThe Development Coordinator supports Harris County Public Library's development efforts by assisting with donor, sponsor, nonprofit, foundation, and community partner engagement; researching and tracking potential funding, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities; maintaining development records, contact lists, stewardship documentation, impact data, and related tracking tools; preparing reports, summaries, presentations, correspondence, and recognition materials; coordinating follow-up with partners and stakeholders; supporting grant, sponsorship, and resource development initiatives; documenting partner contributions and outcomes; and working with library leadership and internal departments to ensure development activities are organized, mission-aligned, compliant with County procedures, and supportive of HCPL's strategic priorities.This is a part time temporary position, with an ending date of December 25, 2026.Duties & Responsibilities:Supports HCPL development, partnership, and community engagement efforts by maintaining relationships with nonprofit organizations, community agencies, educational partners, civic groups, Friends groups, foundations, donors, sponsors, and other stakeholders.Researches, identifies, and tracks funding, sponsorship, partnership, and outreach opportunities that support HCPL programs, services, literacy initiatives, and strategic priorities.Coordinates partner communications, meeting logistics, follow-up, documentation, records, agreements, calendars, stewardship materials, impact data, and internal updates.Assists with reports, summaries, presentations, correspondence, recognition materials, and other documentation related to development, partnerships, events, and community impact.Coordinates and supports partner events, donor or sponsor activities, community engagement programs, special projects, and public-facing initiatives, including logistics, schedules, supplies, communications, budgets, expenses, and day-of support.Serves as a point of contact for partners, vendors, presenters, staff, and stakeholders and helps resolve event, scheduling, communication, or logistical concerns.Collects attendance data, feedback, photos, success stories, and outcome information to evaluate effectiveness and support reporting.Works with branch and department staff to align development, partnership, and event activities with community needs, library service priorities, and HCPL's mission.Provides technical, administrative, analytical, and project support while keeping management informed of issues, deadlines, risks, and decisions requiring approval.Represents HCPL professionally in meetings, events, communications, and community settings and performs other related duties as assigned.Participates in required training, work groups, meetings, and professional development activities to maintain current knowledge of development practices, systems, policies, and compliance requirements.Other duties as assignedHarris County is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Education: Bachelor's degree in Non-profit Management, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, Event Management, Hospitality, Library Science, Education, Community Development, or a related field. Experience: Three (3) years of verifiable experience in event coordination, nonprofit partnerships, community engagement, development support, project coordination, public administration, library services, or a related area. Project management and organizational skills. Additional Requirements: Candidates must complete a clerical skills test and achieve a minimum typing speed of 80% aptitude, 30 WPM with at least 80% accuracy. Unofficial copies of transcripts are required along with the application.
