Automation Engineer
Lead and implement automation projects using innovative manufacturing concepts focused on process improvement
Review and critique product designs for cost and manufacturability
Examine and assess the business case and tradeoffs of using new innovative manufacturing concepts
Architect, design, specify, integrate, and deploy robotic automation and equipment solutions
Assess manufacturing processes for the feasibility of the use of collaborative and industrial robot applications
Create, compile, and document requirements for automated solutions, including hardware and software dependencies and requirements
Recommend physical changes to manufacturing locations to support equipment installation
Solicit quotations, qualify suppliers, and select equipment vendors
Review process equipment progress and manage the delivery schedule
Act as liaison between Design, Manufacturing, Distribution, and Equipment Vendors
Pilot and debug robotic manufacturing processes for production-based environments
Simulate, validate, and support the installation of robotic and automation solutions
Provide robot programming and programming support to sit
Share best practices and successes, mentor, and provide technical support to site resources
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Robotics, Controls, or Mechanical
- 5+ years of Automation/Controls experience
- 3+ years of experience using robotic simulation programs (Fanuc Robo Guide preferred)
- PLC (Allen Bradley/Siemens), vision systems, and simulation experience
- Floor layouts and tolling design experience using 2D and 3D CAD
- Mechanical components skills with good knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical components
- Familiarity with injection molding, blow molding, thermoforming extrusion, metal stamping, welding, and assembly preferred
$100 per hour
