This will be a temp role with the opportunity to gain full-time/part-time employment.**Custodians*** Pay: $15.50/hr* Shifts: Morning/Day shifts available**Position Summary:**The University Janitorial group is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment across campus facilities, including academic buildings, offices, restrooms, laboratories, and common areas. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained campus for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.**Key Responsibilities: (Custodians)*** Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.* Clean and disinfect restrooms, replenish supplies,* Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with university policies.* Report any necessary repairs or safety hazards, such as leaks, broken fixtures, or damaged flooring to your supervisor.* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals.* Respond to urgent cleaning needs or spills in a timely manner.* Support sustainability efforts by following recycling and waste management procedures.* Perform additional duties as assigned to support campus operations.**Qualifications:*** High school diploma or equivalent preferred.* Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, especially in an educational or institutional setting.* Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.* Basic knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures is a plus.* Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.* Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with students, faculty, and staff.* Willingness to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.**Work Environment:**This position requires working in various indoor and outdoor settings across campus, including classrooms, laboratories, athletic facilities, and administrative offices.
