About the job Automation System Engineer Summary An Automation System Engineer is focused on the design, development, implementation, and optimization of complex automation systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities System Design and Development Design and develop comprehensive automation systems that improve operational efficiency. Programming and Configuration Develop and optimize code and algorithms for automation systems. Configure and program control systems such as PLCs, SCADA, and DCS. Develop user interfaces and dashboards for monitoring and control. Testing and Validation Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of automation systems. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with hardware and software components. Documentation and Compliance Prepare detailed documentation for system designs, configurations, and changes. Ensure systems comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols. Project Management Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Develop project plans, timelines, and goals. Communicate progress to stakeholders and address any project-related issues. Education and/or Experience Bachelors or Masters degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, industrial, or related field) Relevant experience in designing and implementing automation systems. Familiarity with industrial control system and protocols. Proficient in programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, ladder logic) and automation platforms. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent technical documentation and communication skills. Other Requirements Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Understanding of network architectures and cybersecurity practices related to automation systems. Willingness to travel and adapt to various working environments if necessary. Preferred Attributes Experience in particular industries such as aerospace, automotive, pharmaceutical, or manufacturing. Knowledge of advanced technologies like IoT, machine learning, or robotics.
