Assistant Project Manager – Commercial ConstructionA well-established commercial general contractor in Santa Clara is seeking an organized and motivated Assistant Project Manager (APM) with 1–3 years of commercial construction experience. This office-based role will support multiple commercial and industrial projects, including cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing facilities, and tenant improvements.This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional who wants hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle and a clear path toward becoming a Project Manager.ResponsibilitiesSupport Project Managers with daily project coordination and documentationCreate and maintain project files, logs, and tracking reportsPrepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, work plans, and material samplesAssist with project schedules, budgets, cost tracking, and biddingPerform construction takeoffs and review drawings, specifications, and scopes of workCoordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field teamsSupport material and equipment procurement, tracking, receiving, and site deliveryAttend project meetings, site walks, and inspections as neededPrepare closeout documentation, O&M manuals, and turnover packagesProvide general administrative and operational support to the office teamQualifications1–3 years of commercial construction experienceConstruction Management, Engineering, or related degree preferred; equivalent experience consideredExperience with RFIs, submittals, takeoffs, project documentation, or subcontractor coordinationFamiliarity with commercial construction drawings and specificationsProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookStrong organization, follow-through, and attention to detailProactive, dependable, and willing to learnComfortable working independently and supporting multiple Project ManagersStrong written, verbal, and professional phone communication skillsValid driver's license and acceptable driving recordAbility to pass a background checkMust meet applicable client and project-site eligibility requirements, including U.S. citizenship where contractually requiredScheduleMonday–Friday 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.Primarily office-based in Santa ClaraLocal candidates strongly preferredCompensation and Benefits$80,000–$105,000, based on experienceFully employer-funded family PPO medical plan with low deductiblesDental and vision insurance401(k) matchingTwo weeks of paid time offPaid holidaysPaid safety and skills trainingEmployee tickets to local professional sporting eventsCollaborative, hands-on team environmentCareer advancement into a Project Manager role
