About the Role

At Span Alaska Transportation, we keep Alaska moving and our Mechanics are critical to making that happen. In this hands-on Mechanic role, you'll ensure our fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently by performing diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on trucks and heavy equipment.


What you'll do:

Fleet Maintenance & Repair

• Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical systems
• Complete DOT inspections

Diagnostics & Troubleshooting

• Identify mechanical issues and test repairs

Operational Support

• Generate and complete work orders
• Maintain clean and safe workspace

Team Collaboration

• Partner with drivers and operations teams

You have these qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years mechanic experience
• Strong troubleshooting skills

Extra credit if you have:

• CDL (Class A or B)
• Air Brake Certification

Physical & Work Requirements:

• Ability to lift, bend, and work in various conditions

The hourly range is posted for this position in Washington. The hourly rate will depend upon qualifications and other operational considerations.
