SUPERVISORY LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

Summary You will serve as a Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist in the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Mission Systems Group, Logistics Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV. Responsibilities You will plan work and prepare performance plans covering work to be accomplished by subordinates, set and adjust short-term priorities, and prepare schedules for completion of work. You will evaluate work performance and recommend official performance ratings, along with giving advice, counsel, and instruction to employees on both work and administrative matters. You will interview candidates for positions in the unit to recommend the type of appointment (promotion/reassignment, etc.) as well as identifying developmental and training needs of employees. You will complete and/or approve timekeeping documents and leave requests, training requests, travel orders, and miscellaneous forms (workplace safety, on-the-job injuries, security-related access and clearance issues, separations, etc.). You will review proposals for expanded or alternative work proposed by other employees or contractors, along with handling major issues and controversies by recommending what work and/or services will be performed. You will participate in subordinate and/or main pay pool panels to help finalize performance ratings, payout points, and salary and bonus distributions for members of the organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-13/14) grade level or pay band (NM-04) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: (1) Acting as a project or program manager for major system developments, the direction of technology-based research, or business initiatives which have the highest significance to the agency's needs; (2) Directing the planning of resources to accomplish major blocks of engineering, technical, or business endeavors which may involve key portions of significant industrial resources and long-range commitments of agency dollar allocations; (3) Ensuring sound fiscal management by observing and applying position management and classification principles by analyzing, monitoring, and reducing costs by forecasting budgets and providing information to higher level management on future staffing, facility space, and equipment needs; (4) Formulating approaches using knowledge of related projects to resolve a variety of technological and/or corporate problems, where some work may require state-of-the-art innovation to take advantage of new concepts in the development of advanced systems and/or latest technology; and (5) Serving as the activity's main point of contact with contractors, other managers, and sponsors as well as developing written and/or oral presentations for those stakeholders on project status, technical problems, scheduling, and costs to review and evaluate contractor performance for conformance to established criteria.
