Locum - Physician - Anesthesiologist Suffolk VA

Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center is looking for Anesthesiology coverage!

Open dates:

• Starting IMMEDIATELY upon credentialing

Job Details:

• Practice Setting: Hospital Based
• Schedule (Shifts and Hours): 0700-1530 (N/A Call)
• Documentation System/EMR: EPIC
• Average Number of Surgical Cases Per Day: Approximately 150/year
• Will Supervise CRNAs (ratio 1:4)
• Number of Anesthesiologists in Practice: 10
• Will not have to prepare the anesthesia cart
• Patient Age Demographic: Adult
• Number of Operating Rooms: 13

Required Procedures/Responsbilities:

• General Surgical Cases ADULT
• Minor Nerve Blocks
• IV Regional anesthesia
• Plexus anesthesia
• Complex Vascular Cases (Except Open Heart)
• Complex Orthopedic Cases
• Regional Anesthesia
• Local Infiltration
• Spinal Anesthesia
• Ventilation Management
• Insertion of Central Line & Arterial line
• Evaluation and Management of Acute Volume / BP Issues

Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: approximately 120 days; Temp Privs possible

Travel Reimbursement Information:

• ~$150/night lodging cap
• All other bookings must be standard/economy

Requirement description :

• Board Certification - REQUIRED; ACGME or AOA
• VA License - REQUIRED; will not accept providers needing to obtain a license
• ACLS, PALS Certified - REQUIRED
• VA DEA - REQUIRED
• AT LEAST 3 WEEKS/MONTH AVAILABILITY (please do not submit providers with any less availability)
• Flu Shot - Required
• COVID Vaccination - Highly preferred
• Virginia's cap on medical malpractice damages increases every year by $50,000. Effective 7/01/2023 all providers are expected to have 2.6M coverage
