Dental Assistant Trainee

As a Sterile Technician you will be responsible for timely and accurate sterilization of dental instruments as well as assisting the dental staff with other duties as needed. In this role you will work with the dental staff and will report to Dental Coordinator.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Escorts patients to proper chair and prepares for examination and treatment as directed by the dentistAssists Hygienist with Periodontal ChartingSterilizes the instruments through autoclavePrevents spread of disease and infection by maintaining a clean and sterile work environment in compliance with CDC infection control guidelines (HealthLinc policy) under direction of the infection control coordinatorCleans, sterilized, and stores dental instruments and equipment, as directedMaintains weekly and monthly all dental equipment and machineryTracks/logs sterilizationAssists dental staff in cleaning the operatory after patients are treatedPrepares various impression materialsLogs temperatures for cooling units dailyMaintains AED complianceHelps maintain x-ray equipmentArranges instruments, equipment, materials, and medication on chair side tray in advance of procedure for quick turnover from one patient to the nextFollows specific company and OSHA procedures when handling hazardous materialsMaintains and updates MSDS when neededMaintains adequate supply levels of office/operative inventoryReceives deliveries of suppliesPrepares operatory and sterilization room before the patients arrive.All HealthLinc staff is committed to engage in quality improvement initiatives that align with and support Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH).Other job responsibilities as assigned within the scope of job.As a Sterile Technician you will be responsible for timely and accurate sterilization of dental instruments as well as assisting the dental staff with other duties as needed.
