The role requires independent and team work. You’ll prioritize tasks, use strong organizational skills, communicate effectively, and react quickly. In addition to hardware and network repair, you will install equipment, create documentation, innovate solutions, and resolve problems within the data‑center environment, often working 24/7. Traveling within and outside the regional work area is required. Amazon’s AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. You will work with diverse teams—engineers, hardware and network experts, supply chain specialists, security professionals, and operations managers—to deliver the highest standards of safety and security while maximizing capacity at the lowest cost. Key Responsibilities Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed. Serve as the primary contact point for internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors. Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities. Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues. Help train and onboard new team members. Physical Requirements Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds. Work in cramped and/or elevated locations. Bend, lift, stretch, and reach. Stand and walk for up to 8+ hours a day. Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation. Work in a noisy environment. Work shifts longer than 8 hours to support 24/7 operations (covering both night and day shifts). Essential Requirements Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed. Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility becomes operational. Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and operational status of the assigned facility. Basic Qualifications 1+ years of computer/server hardware troubleshooting or related IT experience. High school or equivalent diploma. Work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of network design, protocols and Layer 1/2 troubleshooting. Associate’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering), or experience in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Networking Engineering). Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system. Experience in a data center or other critical environment.
