Job Title Travel RN – Operating Room / Surgery Location Alamogordo, New Mexico Schedule / Job Type Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | 4 Days x 10 Hours | Days Shift (6:00 AM – 4:00 PM) | Onsite Key Responsibilities Apply and document the full nursing process — assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation — for surgical patients across specialties including Orthopedic, General, Podiatry, GYN/OB (including C-Sections), Pain Management, Urology, and Endoscopy. Consult with physicians and clinical staff on nursing problems and interpretation of policies to ensure patient needs are met safely and effectively. Practice the five rights of medication administration and maintain clinical competency to provide direct, safe patient care in the operating room environment. Act as a patient advocate, incorporating family in care planning, respecting confidentiality, and honoring patients' cultural and religious beliefs. Participate in hospital and departmental quality improvement activities as required. Demonstrate effective communication and teamwork skills when interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary staff of varying ages and cultural backgrounds. Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Mexico required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — American Heart Association (AHA) only. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required — AHA only. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required — AHA only. Verbal CPI certification required at time of hire. Minimum 1 year of experience in an Operating Room or surgical nursing specialty. Preferred Experience / Skills Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Ability to speak additional languages is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills with basic computer proficiency.
