Associate, Client Accounting Services - Family Office

Overview Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm with a global presence. The Family Office practice provides accounting and consulting services to ultra‑high net worth individuals and family clients. The Family Office Accounting Associate will work closely with clients on a variety of accounting and administrative services, supporting the full accounting cycle, cash management, and tax package preparation. What you will do Assist team members with the full accounting processes, including maintaining the general ledger, generating and posting all journal entries in a timely manner, coordinating monthly close, maintaining budgets and reporting on budget to actual, and preparing monthly/quarterly financial statements with related workpapers. Research and resolve issues or discrepancies with clients’ accounts, bill pay or invoices. Supervise and review the accounts payable function and Family Office staff members. Manage and reconcile numerous bank, brokerage, and credit card accounts. Perform reconciliations and analysis for balance sheet accounts, including inter-company accounts. Prepare year‑end reporting of 1099s. Assist in preparation of quarterly and annual tax packages and supporting documents. Respond to client requests and inquiries. Handle special projects as needed. Demonstrate the desire to continually grow, learn and develop skills and knowledge through external and internal education, training and cross‑training opportunities. Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients. Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; CPA eligible preferred. One year of progressive accounting/bookkeeping experience. Proficient with Microsoft Office; QuickBooks experience preferred. Strong project management and client service skills. Familiar with GAAP and financial statements. High attention to detail, problem solver & intellectually curious. Adhere to the highest level of confidentiality. Diverse accounting background. Understanding of professional services and client service. Strong interpersonal skills with an approachable and professional demeanor. Outstanding organization skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to handle and respond to multiple client and department demands in a timely manner. Ability to prioritize assignments and effectively manage time. Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Team player and able to work independently. Pay & Benefits Pay rate range: $60,000 to $81,320. Compensation is influenced by relevant factors including applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees/certifications, work arrangements, and geographic location.
