Certified Surgical Technologist

The role involves working as a Certified Surgical Technologist in the Operating Room. The shift is from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM with rotating weekend on-call responsibilities. This position requires performing various surgical procedures including ortho, spine, urology, general, and GYN. The unit consists of 7 operating rooms with a patient ratio of 1:1. Staff includes RNs, CSTs, OR Aides, Anesthesia Techs, and Schedulers. Types of equipment utilized include Stryker, Arthrex, and Olympus. The documentation system used is Meditech. Scheduling requires either four 10-hour shifts or three 12-hour shifts. There is a floating policy that may require the tech to rotate between different ORs. A strong emphasis is placed on patient experience. Required certifications include BLS. A provided uniform consisting of scrubs must be worn during shifts. The work environment promotes a great team atmosphere with access to advanced technologies such as the MAKO robot, DaVinci robot, and Medtronic Stealth.
