Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for Med Surg Rehab patients, coordinating medical and rehabilitation needs (physical, occupational, speech therapy) as part of a holistic approach.
- Manage patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 1:4/5; collaborate with interdisciplinary team to optimize functional recovery.
- May serve as backup Charge Nurse; coordinate total nursing care, supervise team members, and ensure adherence to professional standards of practice.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor vital signs and device therapy, perform routine assessments, and document in the electronic medical record (Cerner).
- Engage in patient and family teaching, discharge planning, and coordination with therapists to support functional goals and safe transitions of care.
- May float between Acute Rehab and Med Surg units and to other units as needed within scope of practice.

Requirements
- Active Vermont RN license or Compact license in good standing
- BLS (American Heart Association) and ACLS (American Heart Association) certifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med Surg Rehab experience; Charge RN experience required
- BSN is strongly preferred
- Prior travel experience (at least 3 months) required
- Willingness to float to other units as needed within scope of practice
- Must have own reliable transportation due to community setting
