ABOUT THE ROLE

Arbor Associates is seeking three Elementary Co-Teachers for contract-to-hire placements at a public school in Providence, RI - one each at the Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, and 5th Grade levels. Each classroom serves 30-32 students and operates with two teachers, making collaboration, communication, and shared instructional ownership central to this role.

These positions carry a strong possibility of converting to permanent employment for the right candidates. Bilingual candidates and those holding Special Education licensure are especially encouraged to apply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Co-teach alongside the lead classroom teacher, sharing instructional delivery, classroom management, and student support responsibilities.
• Plan and deliver grade-appropriate lessons aligned with Rhode Island state standards and school curriculum.
• Support the academic, social, and emotional development of all students in a diverse classroom environment of 30-32 students.
• Differentiate instruction to meet varied learning needs, including students with IEPs, English language learners, and advanced learners.
• Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment in partnership with your co-teacher.
• Communicate regularly with families, school staff, and Arbor regarding student progress and any concerns.
• Participate in school meetings, professional development, and grade-level team collaboration as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure / Certification: Rhode Island RIDE Elementary Education license required. Candidates holding a current teaching license from a state with Rhode Island reciprocity will be considered and must be prepared to obtain RI licensure. Special Education licensure or endorsement is a strong plus.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Education, or a related field required.

Experience: Prior classroom teaching or student teaching experience at the elementary level preferred. Experience co-teaching or working in inclusive classroom settings a plus.

Language Skills: Bilingual candidates (Spanish preferred) are strongly encouraged to apply and will be given priority consideration.

Other Requirements: Must successfully complete a background check and any additional screening required by the school or district prior to placement.
