Controller Position

We're partnered with a growing commercial construction business based in Dallas, TX who is looking to bring on an experienced Controller to lead their financial operations.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a key leadership role where you will take ownership of the full accounting function, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations including GL, AP, AR, payroll and month-end close
Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
Oversee job costing processes to ensure accurate project-level financial reporting
Manage Work in Progress (WIP) schedules and ensure correct revenue recognition across projects
Perform and review bank reconciliations, account reconciliations and intercompany transactions
Lead the annual audit process and act as the main point of contact for external auditors and CPA firms

Requirements

Essential:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
4–7+ years of accounting experience, including at least 3+ years within construction
Experience managing an accounting team
Strong experience owning the full accounting function (GL, AP, AR, payroll, reporting)
Solid understanding of construction accounting principles including job costing, WIP, AIA billing and retainage
Experience managing month-end and year-end close processes

Desirable:

Experience with construction ERP systems such as Sage 300 CRE, Viewpoint, CMiC or similar
