What's the opportunity?

We're working with a well-funded, cash-flow-positive Series B cybersecurity company to hire several Senior Software Engineers for its new engineering office in New York.

You'll become one of the most senior individual contributors in the office, helping establish its technical culture, leading important product initiatives and mentoring a growing team that includes several graduate engineers.

This is not a move away from coding. You'll remain deeply hands-on, building full-stack products while providing the technical leadership that helps other engineers perform at their best.

The company needs people who can move between frontend and backend development, understand the product problem behind a requirement and own work from initial planning through production delivery.

Cybersecurity requirements are becoming increasingly difficult for smaller businesses to navigate—particularly those entering regulated supply chains.

The company's newest products support American manufacturers and other businesses supplying the federal government. These organisations produce essential materials, components and services, but many are small or family-owned companies without large cybersecurity teams or substantial compliance budgets.

Taking on federal contracts means protecting sensitive information and meeting demanding cybersecurity standards. Without the right support, otherwise capable businesses can struggle to qualify for work or expose themselves and the wider supply chain to unnecessary risk.

This company is making effective cybersecurity more accessible. Its technology helps businesses understand what is required, improve their security practices, protect sensitive information and demonstrate that they can be trusted to participate in federal work.

You won't be working for the government or a weapons manufacturer. You'll be helping American businesses operate securely, protect their livelihoods and contribute to a stronger industrial supply chain.

Why now?

The company already supports thousands of organisations through its established security and compliance platform.

It is now expanding into broader cybersecurity tooling, with its new federal product driving the strongest period of revenue growth in the company's history.

This market is developing quickly and currently has limited direct competition. The company is therefore investing in new products and building its first physical engineering hub in New York.

You'll join early enough to influence the culture and technical direction of that office, but with the financial stability, customer base and backing of an established Series B business.

What will you do?

You'll build full-stack products across one of two areas.

One team focuses on experimental products and new opportunities, including cybersecurity tooling for businesses in the federal supply chain. The other develops the foundational platform and infrastructure supporting the wider product portfolio.

Depending on the team, you will:

• Develop full-stack features from planning and design through deployment and optimisation.
• Build with TypeScript, React, GraphQL and Ruby on Rails.
• Explore Node.js, Rust and other modern technologies on newer products.
• Work closely with Product, Design and Engineering to solve customer problems.
• Step into product thinking when requirements are not fully defined.
• Lead technically complex projects and remain accountable for their delivery.
• Mentor junior and graduate engineers.
• Help establish standards and working practices for the new NYC office.
• Continue writing meaningful production code every week.

What will you bring?

You'll have approximately five to seven years of full-stack software-engineering experience, with strong TypeScript skills and experience using a modern object-oriented backend language.

You may lean towards frontend or backend development, but you should be willing and able to work across the complete product.

Technical leadership is essential. You must be able to demonstrate that you have led projects, made important decisions and/or mentored junior engineers. Holding a Senior title without evidence of ownership will not be enough.

You’ll also bring:

• End-to-end ownership of products or technically complex features.
• Strong product instincts and the confidence to question unclear requirements.
• Experience in a Series A to Series C company or another high-growth environment.
• Evidence of progression, increased responsibility or meaningful business impact.
• A CS degree from a highly regarded university programme.
• A high-ownership working style and the ability to move quickly without excessive oversight.
• Genuine enthusiasm for the company's cybersecurity and US-industry mission.
• The willingness to work regularly from the New York office.

The company is also open to an ambitious mid-level engineer from an exceptionally high-bar engineering environment who has already led projects and is ready to step into their first formal Senior position.

This role is unlikely to suit someone who has moved away from coding, prefers a narrow technical specialism or has a repeated pattern of short tenures.
