Description

American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a NICU night shift position requiring NRP certification and NICU experience at a teaching hospital.

Details

• Work in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-7:30
• Epic charting system experience required
• Assists with high-risk deliveries and inter-departmental neonatal transports

Requirements

• Current Ohio Respiratory Therapy License required at time of submission (license required if applicable)
• NRP certification required
• CRT or RRT credential required
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• NICU experience required
• High School diploma and College diploma/transcripts required, from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with Nitric Oxide (iNO), Oscillator Ventilation, NAVA, Bubble CPAP, High-Flow Nasal Cannula, Neonatal Ventilator Management, and High-Risk Deliveries preferred
• Skilled in CPAP/Nasal CPAP/BIPAP, intubation assist, oscillating and pressure/volume ventilators, and ventilator management
• Experience with patient transport, including inter-departmental and ambulance transport

Additional Information

• Provide respiratory care to neonatal patients including high-risk delivery support
• Perform neonatal ventilator management using a variety of specialized equipment
• Support inter-departmental and ambulance patient transports
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Locals accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees at any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for this travel position
• RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to urgent state requirements
