Tax AssociateDuties:Business and individual tax preparationFinancial statement preparationFamiliarity with tax software: Intuit Lacerte a big plusWell-versed with accounting practices, GAAP and keep current on changes to tax laws & regulationsAbility to navigate a transaction database and determine potential issues or inappropriate posting in order to prepare a tax returnDetermine if compliance with policies and selected law/regulations are metAble and willing to meet business critical deadlinesMaintaining relationships and communicating with key client personnel to understand business operations, processes, and functionsAbility to demonstrate an understanding of accounting and tax laws and apply them to client situationsStrong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skillsExcellent bookkeeping skills and general accounting knowledgeProficiency with QuickBooks, all versionsStrong knowledge of Excel and WordMaintain paperless filing systemQualifications:Minimum of 3-5 years bookkeeping experience, preferably in a public accounting settingMinimum of 2 years tax preparation experienceExposure to multiple industriesAssociate's/Bachelor's degree in business or accounting is a plus
