About the Position

Job Title: Step Down Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Moderate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 18 months in specialty within the past 3 years License: Valid GA or compact license required Certifications: CCRN preferred Must-Have: PA lines experience Description: This position requires nurses to manage patients in a fast-paced moderate care environment. The unit focuses on low acuity critical care patients awaiting placement in higher acuity settings. No ventilators, continuous renal replacement therapy, or Impella devices are accepted. The role includes accommodating LVAD devices, administering 2-4 intravenous drips, and managing arterial lines and PA catheters. Patients may also include those needing observation after same-day procedures. The job provides exposure to a variety of cardiovascular procedures and diagnoses. Nurses will develop organization skills and critical thinking in a high volume patient turnover setting. This position offers an excellent opportunity to enhance and fine-tune assessment skills. A rhythm identification test will be required upon starting. Nurses will have two chances to complete the test successfully.
