Pediatric Nephrology Clinical Assistant/Associate/Professor

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida is seeking two Pediatric Nephrologists to pursue a non-tenure track career in the Division of Nephrology. Incumbents will provide clinical services to patients seen in the Pediatric Nephrology clinics and Shands Teaching Hospitals, as well as teaching Pediatric residents, fellows and medical students.

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology is a tertiary referral center for North and Central Florida and the surrounding states. Our Division offers special expertise in the care of very young children with renal failure and in the care of patients with complex renal abnormalities who require dialysis and transplantation.

The Division of Pediatric Nephrology provides diagnosis and treatment for infants, children, and adolescents with all forms of acute and chronic kidney disease. There are approximately 3600 outpatient visits and 350 admissions each year. These include infants, children, and adolescents with a variety of bladder and kidney problems, patients with hypertension and electrolyte abnormalities, and the assessment of pregnant women carrying a fetus with a renal abnormality noted on ultrasound. Physicians over the entire tri-state area call for consultations, as do the faculty of the University of Florida Health Science Center who need joint consultative care of the complex pediatric problems.

UF Health Shands Children's Hospital represents the only quaternary-care academic pediatric center in North Florida. The children's hospital has 208 beds, including fully-equipped pediatric and neonatal intensive care units.

Minimum Requirements: Applicants must have an M.D. degree or equivalent, be licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Florida, and be Board certified or Board eligible in Pediatric Nephrology.
