Position Details: Work Shift: Night Shift (United States of America). Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36. Department: Sleep Disorder Clinic. Overview of Position Responsible for the transformation, performance, and distribution of diagnostic tests, PSG, MSLT, CPAP. Must accurately analyze results of procedures to score information for physician interpretation. Participate in quality analysis of test results and collaborate with other technicians. Acknowledge charges for billing purposes. Responsible for application, removal, and completion of all test and associated equipment. Essential Duties Works independently performing excellent quality PSG and other studies. Keeps equipment in proper working order, performs routine maintenance, detects equipment malfunction; makes minor repairs, and reports problems to management. Selects the appropriate recording montage or montages necessary for the case under study. Obtains a high quality recording, recognizing artifacts and taking the steps to eliminate them. Assesses physical and mental status before, during and after completion of test and notifies appropriate personnel to facilitate continuity of care. Operates all equipment utilized in an optimal manner. Is attentive to patient needs to meet customer expectations. Identifies and completes additional project(s) as assigned by management. Qualifications High School Diploma. Registered Polysomnograph Technologist or RRT. If RRT, must be enrolled in or have completed the A-Step Online Self-Study Modules. One-year experience in sleep center or respiratory therapy. BLS required. Ability to read, write and explain or describe moderately complex information to other hospital staff and patients – Attention to detail. Displays common sense and ability to make quick decisions. Demonstrates solid interpersonal communication skills to include written, verbal and telephone etiquette. Demonstrates technical skills to complete assignments, experience with Word, Excel, and other office equipment. Demonstrates the ability to learn department specific computer programs. Demonstrates the ability to be self-directed, yet work well with others. Demonstrates the ability to problem-solve, organize, prioritize, function with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks. Demonstrates flexibility with change to include processes, priorities, workflow, and responsibilities.
