Contract Services Data Analyst Associate (Fellowship Program) Salary: $60,027.00 - $71,889.00 Annually Application Deadline: Jul 13, 2026 The Contract Services Data Analyst Associate is responsible for assisting with business and data analysis and for providing operational support to the division. The incumbent will support contract services activities, assist with conducting data analysis on contract metrics, develop and manage the business dashboards, assist with management of TRS vendor information in complex automated accounting and contract administration systems, and provide general office support for division leadership. This position will report to the Chief Contract Services Officer and proactively work with the Contract Management Office, Procurement and Contracts department, TRS business units, and agency staff. This Fellowship Program position is a full-time, temporary, limited term assignment not to exceed three years from the date of hire. It is intended for individuals that have graduated with a bachelor's degree or master's degree from an accredited college or university within the last 12 months. This position requires onsite work at our Austin TX location. WHAT YOU WILL DO Business and Data Analytics Assists the Contract Services Division with business and data analysis. Develops visualizations and analysis in PowerBI dashboards for trend analysis and executive insight. Develops queries to support decision‑making. Performs root‑cause analysis to identify and solve data gaps. Researches, recommends, and implements methodologies for reporting contract‑related data and key performance indicators. Analyzes data for reports, briefings, and presentations. Assists with presenting data‑driven insights to cross‑functional teams and leadership. Supports data governance meetings and working sessions. Assists with creating presentations and reports for leadership and stakeholders. Assists with designing and implementing operational processes for data analytics project goals. Assists with documenting requirements for data quality, verification, and test approaches and processes. Business Operational Support Compiles, maintains, and analyzes performance measures and metrics across the division. Identifies and solves process issues through research and analysis. Collaborates with division management to analyze contracts trends. Assists with conducting quality reviews and tracks contract monitoring requirements. Assists with developing and training internal and external stakeholders on policies and procedures. Provides administrative support, including record‑keeping and responding to information request. Reviews activity logs, files, and reports on services provided. Serves as the Records Management Liaison for the division. Assists with developing and maintaining procedures and guidelines. Participates in division and agency‑wide project teams. Performs related work as assigned. Fellowship Program Participates in trainings and projects related to the TRS Fellowship Program including webinars, quarterly check‑ins, classes or other learning activities, book group, projects and the mentoring program. Meets TRS Fellowship Program deadlines and goals for completion of trainings in deliverables in a timely manner. WHAT YOU WILL BRING Required Education Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university within the last 12 months. Required Experience None. Required Registration, Certification, Licensure None. Preferred Qualifications Experience researching and analyzing datasets and preparing related reports and presentations. Experience using SQL, Excel, PowerPoint or other presentation‑building software platforms. Working knowledge of PowerBI, Databricks or other data visualization tools. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of Basic data analysis methods and statistical techniques. General knowledge of office practices and administrative procedures. Verbal and written communication of complex information that is accurate, timely, and based on sound judgment. Providing quality customer service. Reviewing documentation; properly applying complex laws, regulations, rules, and policies; and making decisions based on sound judgment. MS Office products, PowerBI or other data dashboard software. Skill in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools like PowerBI. Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python. The use of standard office equipment and software. Planning, organizing, and prioritizing work assignments to manage a high‑volume workload in a fast‑paced and changing environment and complete detailed work with a high degree of accuracy. Using a computer in a Windows environment with Microsoft Office word processing, spreadsheet, and other business software, including accurately entering alpha/numeric data. Ability to Establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co‑workers, agency staff, vendors, contractors, and other external contacts. Work effectively in a professional team environment. Work independently and productively under minimal supervision.
