Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate Attorney (3–6 Years)

Direct Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join a leading labor and employment law firm in its Denver, Colorado office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with strong litigation experience who is looking to develop a practice under the mentorship of talented partners in a collaborative, hybrid environment.

Employment litigation experience is preferred but not required . Attorneys with strong general litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in labor and employment law are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Handle employment litigation matters as part of a collaborative team from inception through resolution.

• Draft and respond to pleadings and other litigation documents.

• Manage discovery and participate in all phases of litigation.

• Take and defend depositions.

• Draft and argue motions.

• Participate in mediations and other dispute resolution proceedings.

• Advise clients on day-to-day employment law matters.

• Draft and revise employee handbooks and employment policies.

• Assist with employment-related training and client education.

• Apply knowledge of federal and state employment laws to a variety of client matters.

• Manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

• Work closely with partners and colleagues while providing practical, client-focused legal advice.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of litigation experience.

• Employment litigation experience is preferred but not required.

• Strong general litigation experience will be considered.

• Demonstrated familiarity with employment laws and an interest in developing a labor and employment practice.

• Experience with pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, and mediations.

• Excellent academic credentials.

• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong desire for excellence and commitment to achieving strong client outcomes.

• Collaborative approach, professionalism, and empathy toward colleagues.

• Growth mindset and commitment to exceptional client service.

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required.

• Admission to the Colorado Bar required.

Location

Denver, Colorado

Compensation

Salary Range: $170,000–$220,000 annually.

Actual compensation within the range will be determined based on relevant experience, internal equity, skills, qualifications, and other job-related factors.
