Job Description

This role operates forklifts and material handling equipment in a food manufacturing and warehouse environment to safely move, store, and ship products. The forklift operator ensures accurate inventory movement, supports production and shipping activities, and follows strict safety, sanitation, and food safety standards while contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely and efficiently in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.

• Move products to and from production lines, storage areas, and shipping docks in an accurate and timely manner.

• Load and unload tractor-trailer shipments while protecting product integrity and meeting shipping schedules.

• Use work orders or verbal instructions to determine material needs and staging requirements.

• Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control processes.

• Ensure product integrity through proper handling, stacking, storage, and placement of materials.

• Follow all safety procedures, sanitation guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and SQF food safety regulations.

• Use RF scanners and basic computer systems to track inventory movement and complete required documentation.

• Support general warehouse housekeeping, including keeping work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.

• Assist with facility maintenance tasks as needed to support safe and efficient operations.

• Operate pallet jacks, including electric pallet jacks, to move materials as required.

• Perform order picking and material picking tasks to support production and shipping.

• Collaborate with production, shipping, and receiving teams to ensure smooth material flow.

• Lift and move materials as needed while following safe lifting techniques.

• Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and manufacturing operations.

Essential Skills

• Prior forklift experience, including stand-up or reach truck experience (stand-up or reach truck experience preferred).

• Ability to safely operate forklifts, including sit-down and stand-up forklifts, in a warehouse and production environment.

• Ability to safely operate pallet jacks, including electric pallet jacks.

• Experience with material handling in a warehouse or production setting.

• Ability to load and unload trailers, and handle shipping and receiving tasks.

• Basic computer skills to support inventory and warehouse processes.

• Experience using RF scanners for inventory tracking and order processing (preferred).

• Ability to read, write, and understand safety procedures and work instructions.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining food safety and quality standards.

• Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and lift materials as needed.

• Ability to follow GMP and PPE guidelines and adhere to safety and sanitation policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with sit-down forklift operations.

• Experience with stand-up forklift operations.

• Experience operating reach trucks in a warehouse environment.

• Experience in warehouse or production work, including order picking and general material handling.

• Comfort working with RF scanners and basic warehouse technology.

• Reliability and strong attendance to support performance-based progression opportunities.

• Ability to work effectively across multiple shifts and collaborate with a large site workforce.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing and warehouse environment within a brand-new, temperature-controlled facility. The site employs approximately 360 people, offering a large, team-oriented setting. You will work around production lines, storage areas, and shipping docks, using forklifts, reach trucks, sit-down and stand-up forklifts, pallet jacks (including electric pallet jacks), and RF scanners. The operation follows strict GMP and PPE guidelines, including Good Manufacturing Practices and required personal protective equipment appropriate for a food manufacturing environment. Multiple shifts are available, including a first shift Monday through Friday (7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.), a second shift Monday through Friday (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.), and a third shift Sunday through Thursday (11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.). The environment emphasizes safety, sanitation, organization, and compliance with food safety and SQF standards, while maintaining clean and orderly work areas.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dunmore, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $21.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
