VP of Operations

Kansas City, MO: Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a VP of Operations to provide hands‑on leadership over day‑to‑day operations and project execution for a growing industrial organization. This position will oversee complex fabrication, installation, maintenance, rigging, and industrial projects while working closely with company leadership to improve efficiency, productivity, quality, and profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and project management experience, proven leadership capabilities, and the ability to make sound decisions in a fast‑paced industrial environment. Essential Duties: Lead day‑to‑day operations and overall project execution. Oversee multiple industrial, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and erection projects. Manage project schedules, resources, budgets, and overall performance. Identify operational challenges and implement practical, effective solutions. Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, quality, and profitability. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, shop personnel, field crews, customers, and vendors. Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to operational teams. Take ownership of operational and project‑related issues and drive them through resolution. Support company leadership with operational strategy, planning, and decision‑making. Monitor project performance and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. Establish and maintain effective processes to improve project execution and operational performance. Requirements/Skills: Significant experience in industrial operations, project management, or a related field. Experience with steel fabrication, industrial construction, manufacturing, installation, maintenance, rigging, or related operations. Proven experience managing complex projects from start to finish. Strong technical understanding of industrial processes and project execution. Demonstrated leadership and team management experience. Strong problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and operational demands. Proven ability to improve operations and deliver measurable results. Self‑directed and comfortable making decisions with minimal supervision. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Hands‑on, results‑driven leadership style with a strong focus on execution and accountability. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in both office and industrial/project environments. Ability to regularly visit and observe active job sites, fabrication areas, and field operations. Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and navigate industrial environments as needed. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when visiting job sites or industrial areas. Ability to work in environments that may include noise, dust, machinery, varying temperatures, and other typical industrial conditions.
