Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery unit, supporting mother and newborn health during childbirth. Ensure safety, comfort, and compliance with medical protocols throughout patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Manage labor and delivery processes, including monitoring fetal and maternal vital signs.
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed by physicians and protocols.
• Document all patient care activities accurately in the electronic medical record system.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individual care plans.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth, postpartum care, and newborn care.
• Ensure compliance with infection control policies and maintain a safe environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN or LVN license in good standing.
• Possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Demonstrate proficiency in fetal monitoring and labor management.
• Be capable of completing required lab and documentation within specified timeframes.
• Have current certification verification and travel compliance documentation.
• Exhibit strong communication and patient advocacy skills.
