The role focuses on advancing research and education in high-intensity laser-matter interactions, high-power lasers, and applications in high-energy density science, including laser fusion. The successful candidate will contribute to the university’s ATLAS facility, a state-of-the‑art center for laser research, while teaching and mentoring students in electrical and computer engineering. Responsibilities Conduct innovative, externally funded research in high-power laser-matter interactions and related applications. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical and computer engineering. Mentor graduate and undergraduate students in academic and research pursuits. Serve on departmental, college, and university committees. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including the Advanced Center for Extreme Photonics and ATLAS facility researchers. Publish scholarly work in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at conferences. Requirements PhD in electrical engineering, physics, or a closely related discipline. Evidence of scholarly achievement, including publications and extramural funding. At least six years of experience in ultra-intense laser-matter interactions. Commitment to teaching, research, and service responsibilities. Ability to contribute to the ATLAS facility and collaborate across disciplines. Internationally recognized research contributions. Proven ability to secure significant external funding. Teaching and mentoring experience at the university level. Enthusiasm for collaborative research and interdisciplinary projects.
