R&D Business Intern - Fall 2026

Overview The PPL R&D Department is looking for business and/or social sciences interns to begin in August 2026 focused on renewable energy (wind, solar, storage, etc.). Ideal candidates will be based in Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, or Kentucky. Students will work part‑time during the academic year and full‑time during the summer on‑site at PPL facilities (Allentown, Providence, Louisville, Lexington). Travel expenses will be covered. Responsibilities Plan and control activities to maintain an accident‑free workplace. Apply business and/or social science principles to support project planning, stakeholder analysis, policy research, and development of professional reports. Gather, correlate, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data using established procedures. Support evaluation of business, regulatory, legislative, and market frameworks impacting renewable energy and decarbonization initiatives. Coordinate and communicate results and participation in research projects within applicable business units and prepare summaries for management. Identify opportunities for improvement and/or suggest improved methods. Perform other duties as directed by management. Qualifications Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a declared major in business or a social science discipline (finance, marketing, economics, public policy, political science, or related field). Available part‑time during the semester and full‑time during the summer. Minimum 3.00 GPA, 3.50 preferred. Remote Work The company reserves the right to determine whether this position will be assigned to work on‑site, remotely, or a combination.
