JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Fort Myers, Florida Coverage Period: Jan 01, 2027 Jun 30, 2027 Shift Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 12p-10p and 1p-11p Hours Per Shift: 10 Shifts Per Week: 7 (7 on, 7 off) Number of Positions: 4 Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 2 patients per hour Case Mix: Trauma and high acuity, adult and pediatric Rounding: Not Included FACILITY INFORMATION Support Staff Available: APP assistance PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM) required Licenses: Active Florida Medical License required Certifications: ATLS required Experience: Residency trained in Emergency Medicine Other Qualifications: Must have clear NPBD background check DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provide immediate recognition, evaluation, care, stabilization, and disposition of adult and pediatric patients in the Emergency Department. Manage high-acuity trauma and medical emergencies in a trauma facility. See an average of 2 patients per hour during 10-hour shifts. Coordinate with APP assistance for patient care without direct supervision of APPs. Complete documentation and patient care tasks after shift conclusion; no call back required.
