Job Location: Robinson, ILPay Level: 1ASummary:The Line Lead is responsible for adhering to the handbook, and complying with regulatory requirements, company/plant policies, procedures, and rules in their area of responsibility. In addition, the Production Line Lead:Independently perform all assignments except the most complex or unusual, only being given instructions as to the general results expectedReceives technical guidance on the most unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for “one of a kind” projectsWith minimal direction and input from senior leadership, independently proposes, plans, and executes projects to eliminate the root cause of manufacturing problemsIndependently executes projects of extremely high complexity which have a large impact on the on the company's current and/or future business interests (projects may relate to any aspect of the business – people, procedures, policies, finances, equipment/processes) and/or productsResponsible for the financial planning, direction and management of hourly production personnel while safely and effectively meeting the needs of their departments/areas in the plantMeets the maintenance needs of all departments in the plantThe position requires weekend work as assignedTo be considered, you must also be flexible for all shiftsSkills and Experience:Strong change management skills, driving and implementing change to optimize the business focusing on safety, quality and costExcellent people and leadership skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of production systemsManagerial ability (communication skills, delegation, motivation, etc.)Problem solving and decision making abilitiesKnowledge of provisions of union contractsKnowledge of product quality standards and regulatory requirementsAbility to work with and relate to all levels of personnelAbility to read/interpret production performance reportsExperience in manufacturing supervisionCost accounting background (general understanding)General engineering understandingMinimum Requirements and Education:Bachelor’s degree preferred Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or in a high speed, complex environment requiredExperience with Microsoft Office Suite requiredMinimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity preferredFood manufacturing experience preferredSAP experience preferredThe Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
