Job Description
Join Our Passionate ICU Team!


- Position: ICU RN (1YR/1ST TIMERS OK)
- Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:00)
- Floating Between Units: Yes
- On-Call Required: No
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, 6 weekend shifts per schedule period
- Block Schedules: No

Patient Ratios:
- ICU: 1:2-3 (depending on acuity)
- Med-Surg: 1:6

Special Requirements:
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Prior ICU experience required

Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a bedside nurse in the ICU, providing care for critically ill adult patients
- Ability to assist on the Med-Surg unit when ICU census is low
- Accepting a limited assignment of approximately 1-2 Med-Surg patients or assisting with patient care activities as needed

Unit Details:
- Type of Facility: Short Term Acute Care
- Total Staffed Beds: 49
- Level IV Trauma Center

Daily Patient Care:
- Age Groups: Adolescents, Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
- Daily Census: 15 patients
- Total Patient Beds: 22

Patient Diagnoses Include:
- Congestive heart failure exacerbation
- Pneumonia (community-acquired or healthcare-associated)
- COPD exacerbation
- Gastrointestinal issues and more

Special Skills Required:
- Accessing/Managing Ports
- BiPAP/CPAP management
- Blood Product Administration
- Starting and maintaining IVs
- Total joint replacement care
