About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Hospice Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Hospice Duration: 26 Weeks Shift: Monday to Friday Hours per Shift: 8 hours (8 AM to 5 PM) Experience: Minimum 1 year of Client experience required License: RN Licensed for the state of Maine Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Driver's license and must use own vehicle to drive from patient home to patient home Description: Immediate start needed. Full-time position with a weekend rotation. The office census averages 150 patients. Patient types and common diagnoses include: s/p orthopedic surgeries, wound care, chronic/acute CHF and COPD, s/p cardiac surgeries, genitourinary cases, IV antibiotic teaching/central line care, medication pre-fills, and lab draws. Case managers average a patient load of 25 to 30 patients. Nursing skill set required to care for the common diagnoses listed above and hospice experience preferred. Scheduling support provided within the department. Clinical manager and lead support team available for assistance. Technology utilized includes EMR and IV pumps provided through a vendor. Floating may be required to support other locations if census allows. Weekend rotation typically occurs once a month, with variability based on staffing needs. On-call requirement involves overnight shifts from 5 PM to 8 AM, typically once every 3 to 4 weeks. Holiday work is expected if the assignment aligns with major holidays such as New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Requests for time off will require manager approval. Dress code is business casual or scrubs, with no specific color requirement. This is a home health assignment, and travel will be required between patient homes. On-site parking available at the office location for meetings and supply pickups.
