About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Orthopedics Duration: 20 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Orthopedics required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BCLS, NIHSS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Orthopedic work experience - Epic experience for first-time travelers - IV start and telemetry skills Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO may lead to cancellation. The unit will accept contracts of 20 weeks or longer up to February 27, 2027. The average daily census is 37 patients. The unit has 39 rooms and beds. The patient population includes orthopedic, neuro spine, med-surg, and post-surgical patients. All COVID patients, unless in ICU, are taken care of in the respective units. Nurses are expected to manage pain effectively for orthopedic and spine patients. Schedule options include block scheduling for flexibility. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. Nurses may be required to float to other medical-surgical units to meet staffing needs. The nurse-patient ratio is expected to be 5-6:1, flexing up to 7:1 in extreme cases. No holiday RTO will be approved. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty.
